Notice: The beliefs before you are man made, but they are Spirit-led and based on Biblical principals and teachings. They reflect a desire for and the searching out of God's truth. These beliefs are not an end but merely a starting point, an invitation to explore, grow and learn in community.
We Believe:
- The authors of the Bible were inspired by God's Holy Spirit to speak to all generations of believers. Together we are called to be immersed by faith in this true story and to individually interpret and live out our part of the story as God's Spirit leads.
- God is the creator of the earth and everything in it. He is a relational being revealing this to us through the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus who has been with God since the beginning was sent to earth, conceived by a miracle and born of the virgin Mary. He was tempted in the same ways that we are today and yet He was sinless. While He was on earth He was at the same time completely man and completely God. His purpose on earth was to preach good news to the poor, to give hope to the brokenhearted and to set the captives free.
- Jesus' life, death, and resurrection demonstrated that He was the only way to a right relationship with the one true God. He taught us how to live life on this earth with an eternal perspective.
- Jesus' life ended on a cross. His death and sacrifice on the cross took away our punishment and created a way for us to be presented clean to the Father. His resurrection from the dead fulfilled prophecies, demonstrated His power over death, and secured His gift of eternal life to mankind.
- Each individual is responsible for the choice to receive the gift of eternal life that Christ offers and to follow Christ in faith. One day Christ will return and judge the world. He will bring an end to injustice; He will reclaim the earth; He will create a new heaven and a new earth and restore things to God's original intent.
- God's Holy Spirit was sent to empower, comfort, and convict. He is a guide and counselor. He distributes spiritual gifts and leads us to truth as we join in a life of worship and self-sacrifice.
- God established the church. It was initiated when Christ left and sent the Holy Spirit, first to the disciples in the book of Acts and now to us. The church is not confined to a place or organization. It is God's people, wherever and whoever they are. He draws all to His side and provides reconciliation to those who humble themselves and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. We as the church are to be a light to the world, revealing Christ to those we come in contact with.
